The Pegasus Scholarship Scheme provides remarkable opportunities for young lawyers to work in other legal jurisdictions worldwide.

Book on to this GIBC event to hear Mary Ruck KC talk about how a Pegasus Scholarship in 1998 gave her the opportunity to work in the Public Protector’s Office in the Republic South Africa, providing her with a formative legal experience and creating life-long connections.

The lawyer with whom she then worked, Elsabe de Waal, now the Acting Chief Executive Manager of Provincial Investigations, will join from South Africa to give an introduction to the work of the Public Protector, an independent State institution set up under the 1994 Constitution to defend democracy and to investigate maladministration by Government.
