We are delighted to note that after an election process Gray’s Inn Member, Master Jason Pitter has been appointed as Leader of the North Eastern Circuit for a period of three years. In this appointment, Jason Pitter KC has become the first Black Leader of the UK Legal Circuits.
The Leader of the North Eastern Circuit’s primary duty is to represent the interests of Circuit Members. They chair the Executive Committee, as well as promote the functions of Circuit as a representative at bodies such as the Bar Council.
Master Pitter was called to the Bar in 1994, before developing his practice in complex and serious criminal litigation as well as professional misconduct and regulatory law. He was elected as Master of the Bench in 2018.
