The Inn is delighted to note the Judicial appointment of the following Gray’s Inn Members in September 2022.

Alexander Marc Jacobs

Queen Elizabeth II appointed Alexander Marc Jacobs to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Wood Green Crown Court with effect from 05 September 2022.

Alexander Marc Jacobs will be known as His Honour Judge Jacobs. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1997. He was appointed as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2011, as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates Court) in 2012, as a District Judge (Magistrates Court) in 2018 and as a Recorder in 2019.

Siân Parry

The King has appointed Siân Parry to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Brandon Lewis CBE MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Welsh Circuit, based at Cardiff Civil Justice Centre with effect from 3 October 2022.

Siân Parry will be known as Her Honour Judge Siân Parry. She was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1994. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2015 and a District Judge in 2018.

Joanna Brownhill

The King has appointed Joanna Brownhill to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Brandon Lewis CBE MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Western Circuit, based at Salisbury Combined Court with effect from 17 October 2022.

Joanna Brownhill will be known as Her Honour Judge Brownhill. She was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1997. She was appointed as a fee paid Judge of the First Tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber and also to the Property Chamber in 2011. She was appointed as a salaried Judge of the First Tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2018.

Bethan Japheth

The King has appointed Bethan Japheth to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Brandon Lewis CBE MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Welsh Circuit, based at Wrexham County and Family Court and Mold Justice Centre with effect from 3 October 2022.

Bethan Japheth will be known as Her Honour Judge Japheth. She was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1997. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010, as a District Judge in 2016 and as a Recorder in 2020.
