The Inn is delighted to note the Judicial appointment of the following Gray’s Inn Members in August 2022.

Jack Warren Redmond

The Queen has appointed Jack Warren Redmond to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midlands Circuit, based at Leicester County Court with effect 15 August 2022.

Jack Warren Redmond will be known as His Honour Judge Redmond. He was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2009. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2020.

HHJ Liza Gordon-Saker

HHJ Liza Gordon-Saker has been appointed Designated Family Judge for Cambridgeshire with effect from 15 August 2022.

The President of the Family Division wishes HHJ Liza Gordon-Saker all the best in her new role.

Mr Justice Pushpinder Saini

Mr Justice Pushpinder Saini has, with the concurrence of the Lord Chancellor, been appointed as Presiding Judge. Presiding Judges are responsible for the deployment of the judiciary and allocation of cases on their Circuit. They also have a responsibility for general supervision of judges on their circuits.

Mr Justice Pushpinder Saini was called to the Bar in 1991 by Gray’s Inn and took silk in 2008. He was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge in 2017 and a High Court Judge in 2019.

Her Honour Judge Nirmal Shant QC

Master of the Bench Her Honour Judge Nirmal Shant QC has been appointed Senior Circuit Judge, Resident Judge based at Nottingham Crown Court, with effect from 1 September 2022.

The Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon has appointed Her Honour Judge Nirmal Shant QC to be a Senior Circuit Judge, Resident Judge based at Nottingham Crown Court, with effect from 1 September 2022.

Nirmal Shant QC, will continue to be known as Her Honour Judge Nirmal Shant QC. She was appointed a Recorder in 2001, and as a Circuit Judge in 2015. She was appointed as Resident Judge at Derby Crown Court in 2016.

Her Honour Judge Rosa Dean

Master of the Bench Her Honour Judge Rosa Dean has been appointed Senior Circuit Judge, Resident Judge based at Snaresbrook Crown Court, with effect from 19 September 2022.

Rosa Dean will continue to be known as Her Honour Judge Rosa Dean. She was called to the Bar in 1994 by Gray’s Inn, before being appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates Court) in 2006, a Recorder in 2009 and a Circuit Judge in 2011. In 2017, She was appointed to be the Resident Judge of Harrow Crown Court.

Sadie Marie Rizzo

Sadie Marie Rizzo has been appointed as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal by the Senior President of Tribunals, the Right Honourable Sir Keith Lindblom.

The Senior President of Tribunals has assigned her to the Social Entitlement Chamber with effect from 19 September 2022.

Sadie Marie Rizzo will be known as Judge Rizzo. She was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2000. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber, in 2019.

Alan Geoffrey Blake

The Queen has appointed Alan Geoffrey Blake to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Luton Crown Court with effect from 12 September 2022.

Alan Geoffrey Blake will be known as His Honour Judge Blake. He was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1997. He was appointed as an Assistant Coroner in 2019 and as a Recorder and a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber in 2020.
